Volunteer & Community Service Opportunities in Arizona

Would you love to help us create the best birthday ever for a child in foster care, ensure this same child has access to clothes, shoes and other basic necessities, or even help potential foster families get what they need to get licensed?

Individual Volunteering

Individual volunteers play a huge role in our day to day operations and are essential to our mission of bringing hope to children in foster care. Opportunities for individual volunteers include, but are not limited to: sorting incoming donations, assisting foster families at a mobile pop-up shop, packing backpacks, help thanking our donors, and helping out in our warehouse.

How do I become a volunteer?
Just three easy steps!

  1. Download our remote volunteer opportunity packet to learn about activities you can do from the comfort of your home or office, such as creating birthday cards, hosting a Back-to-School Drive, creating no-sew blankets, and even putting together personal care kits.
  2. Sign up for our volunteer newsletter to stay up to date on event based, in-person volunteer activities. With so much going on across the state of Arizona, there are opportunities for everyone.

Group Volunteering

We are thrilled to offer a variety of group experiences for those who want to volunteer with us in Arizona. TFA offers group volunteer opportunities for groups of 3-20 people seeking to make a difference and have an impact in the lives of children in foster care!

  • We offer volunteer experiences available both on and off site. Group volunteer activities may include things like sorting incoming clothing donations or decorating birthday cards.
  • All volunteer groups must be part of an affiliated organization (Companies, Religious Organizations, Clubs, etc.). Large family groups will be required to go through the standard registration process.
  • Contact our development team at volunteer@azhelpinghands.org to schedule your group experience today!

Being a former foster parent myself, I am aware of some of the needs that families and children have. Volunteering here fulfills a personal desire for me, and that is to contribute to an organization whose goals focus on helping others. TFA does this consistently and without hesitation…I am honored to be a small part of a great group of people.
