Who We Are

Arizona Helping Hands, Inc. is an organization serving the needs of children and families through special programs. Less than 5% of our revenues are allocated for operating expenses. We raise funds through fundraisers such as the annual luncheon and silent auction, an annual golf tournament,as well as grants from businesses & trusts and donations from individuals. Many of our resources come to us in the form of donated goods from local and national businesses. AHH has a volunteer database in excess of 250 individuals.

Board of Directors

Co-Founder: Judge Paul R. Donaldson, ret.
Former attorney-at-law; Judge for 12 years; 45 years in public service.
Goal: Help Kids at Hope™ before they enter the criminal justice system.

Co-Founder and Dream Catcher for Kids: Kathleen R. Donaldson
17 years as a law enforcement officer. Disabled/retired in 1991.
Goal: Help Kids At Hope™ discover and pursue their dreams.

Dick Bauman
Retired textile sales executive who ran Tepro International for over 30 years.

John Dingeman
Owner/Appraiser for Priority Appraisal, LLC since 2003. Also serves on the City of Phoenix Desert View Village Planning Committee.

Stan Godbehere
Stan is a Vice President with an International Staffing Solution Organization. As a native Arizonian and parent, he is committed to be an active participant in his community and church. Stan strongly believes each of us can make a difference, by sharing our time, talent or treasure.

Dan Hughes
Tax Director of CBIZ MHM, LLC since 1994; married with two children.

Ray Medhus
Has lived in Arizona since 1985 and graduated from Arizona State University in 1988 with a degree in Fine Art Photography. Became a high school teacher in 2000 and currently teaches Ceramics at Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale where he founded the Souper Bowl Benefit and also serves as the Moderator for the NDP Cycling Club.

Deven Mohnsam
Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager for Mutual of Omaha Bank. Originally started in banking in Wisconsin in 1995, moved to Arizona in 1997.

Donald Newman
Don has lived and practiced law (real estate and business) in Phoenix since 1972. He has served on the Board of TERROS, INC., a 501(c)(3) provider of behavioral health and substance abuse services since 2002.

Robbie Robinson
Retired Resort Executive of 23 years, former Vice President of Sales & Marketing of the Pointe Resorts. Founder and President of Automotive Investments Solutions Inc. since 1996. 

Denise R. Saporito, CPA
Offers tax and accounting services to individuals. Married with twin sons, moved to Arizona in 1999.

Daniel C. Shufelt, CPA
Provider of tax and accounting services to individuals and small businesses; trustee for a Phoenix-based real estate trust and founding President of the Branch Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. 

Cindy Simonsen
Former mortgage auditor and in retail operations since 1989. Single mom of one young son.

Angie VanDaele
Angie has lived in Phoenix for more than 20 years. Angie is the publisher of The Wedding Chronicle, a major wedding publication in Arizona. Prior to this she spent 20 years in sales and marketing in the medical industry across the United States.

Michael Wogan
Mike Wogan is the CEO of Yes Hosting and is currently completing his B.S. degree in Finance at Arizona State University. Mike is a young entrepreneur with a passion to assist others. His motto in life is "The only disability in life is a bad attitude".

Carrie Zoulek
Co-Owner of Horizon Carbide Tool, Inc.; spent many years working with children through UMOMS Outreach, Sunshine Acres, several Churches along with Christmas Adopt a Family.

Charter Member: Gail K. Coronato
Retired teacher/librarian; 37 years in public education; also serves as Director for Worth and Dot Foundation.

Honorary Board Members

Mayor Phil Gordon
As Mayor of Phoenix, Gordon lists his three priorities for the city as: Public Safety, Education and Jobs. Gordon was a leader in the movement to revitalize, preserve and redevelop central Phoenix and co-founded and chaired the Slumlord Task Force, which produced legislation to aid in the fight against neglectful and criminal landlords.

Vice-Mayor Peggy Neely
Vice Mayor Peggy Neely was first elected council person for District 2 in the fall of 2001 and is dedicated to managing our growth, working to enhance and expand our Desert Preserves and open space and helping neighborhoods fight blight. Neely is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Maricopa Association of Governments and has long been active in the community "to help improve the quality of life for all of us". Peggy is also a real estate broker and owner of Arizona Home Team.
